We hosted a Tool Sharpening workshop, where the community could bring their own tools and learn the best sharpening methods, to keep them working!

Grow your own oyster mushrooms with local mushroom expert, forager and grower Adi.

Adi taught us all about mushrooms - the different kinds, how they relate to other species, how we can grow and cultivate some and not others, and how they are an integral part of the earth’s complex ecosystems. He brought grain inoculated with fungi spores and we combined this with soaked straw, the substrate for growing the mycelium which will produce oyster mushrooms in about 6 weeks.

We hosted our first Open Day in May 2021, to showcase the beginnings of the Grow Lewisham Project. An open invite shared with local flyering and on social media, we wanted to encourage local engagement with The Plot, showcasing our work so far and sharing our ideas for the future of the site. Over beautiful vegan food prepared by Julian, homemade cakes and drinks, we hoped to spark peoples interest and strengthen our connections within the community of the Lewisham borough.
